The Ballyroan Community Chess Club (B.C.C), playing as “Knights of Eanna” is the local chess club who represent the area of Ballyroan at provincial, regional and international level. The Club night is every Friday and takes place in the Colaiste Eanna school library from 6pm-10pm. We have a diverse and loyal membership; our players range from age 13-67. The club to date has many members and is growing each year. We accept all ages, from 9 years old and up, and all abilities from beginner to GrandMaster (GM). The clubs main orientation is chess but we cater to anyone who wishes to simply use it as a social club and wants to play an occasional game of chess. We hold in-house competitions regularly which vary in format but are always fun. The general atmosphere on a Friday night is vibrant, with loads of chess being played and light music. Feel free to drop in and check us out, you never know, you might just prove to be a natural.
